Follow the handle continuing the curve
Third past ~ star or planet
A light burning bright against the curtain of night
Talisman of hope
Foundations of strength
A guiding light
Bringing balance to life
Some gifts provided
Some shared
Others sought
Each grounding the soldier buried in the fight
Though...
The photo may tear
The letter may fade
Stars might hide behind the mists of rain
Hope will not fail
Love will not flag
The American spirit will never die
So continue on young soldier
Do your duty
Survive your tour!
While you are away
Hold on tight
Your talisman of hope
Shall pull you through
And know with each step
