The Garden of Honor
Material rustling Heels clicking Tandem movements Signify a time honored tradition
The Old Guard Slowly spread our nation's flag Upon the soldier Whose moment has come
Red stripes of courage White stars of purity A blue badge of justice Draped in honor of a soldier's passing
The carriage proceeds slowly through the field of green Rows of white stones Blanketing the garden of honor Marked by crosses of hope
Though another stone will rise Signifying the loss of another soul Our pride Our hope And our care Travel from afar To the families there
Though no longer encased In the body of a soldier The strength of spirit Dedication of heart Inspiration of soul Shall continue to live on
Til we meet again Rest well my friend Be at peace Your duties are done Take a good look around Your strength, dedication, and inspiration Are reflected everywhere We shall not let you down
Your presence shall be felt by all Who travel to visit To honor Those who live within the Garden of Honor!
